Special Notice About Your Water
Due to state regulations: If you lose water pressure due to a malfunction in the Town's water system due to a water leak or a failure of our telemetry system, you will be required to start immediately boiling your water until we receive a water sample back with acceptable results.
The Town Water Billing Clerk will notify all commercial and schools in the event the Town issues a "Boil Water" notice.
However, the advisory will be posted on the Town website and local media will be notified. You may also sign up to receive "Alerts" through text messaging. Depending on the time and day of week the advisory takes place, it may take 24 to 48 hours for test results to come back. After this time frame you may check the Town website, local media, or call 843-335-8474 to see if the Boil Water Advisory has been lifted.
This does not apply to minor repair work on your service line, meter repair, or any maintenance from your meter to your business.
New Tap Fees
When a new tap is required, the customer will be responsible to pay a tap fee to establish service. A new tap may take up to six (6) weeks for installation, depending upon the type of tap required.
Tap Fees are as follows:
Meter Size: 3/8" to 5/8" $750.00
Meter Size: Larger than 5/8" Fee is calculated based on size meter required.
